FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Security Sales & Integration and The Monitoring Association (TMA, formerly CSAA) announce the finalists for the second annual TMA/SSI Monitoring Technology Marvel Award.

The Marvel Award is co-sponsored by SSI and TMA and coordinated by the TMA Technology Committee. The objective of The Marvel is to provide recognition for monitoring centers creating and/or using cutting-edge technology, and to raise awareness of these new technologies.

The 2019 finalists are:

  • CPI Security
  • Securens Systems Pvt. Ltd.

The Marvel will be presented to the overall winner for the “best adoption of new technology to advance your business.” Submission categories included:

  • Best implementation of video verification
  • Best implementation of PERS monitoring
  • Best technology to build efficiency in monitoring
  • Best cybersecurity
  • Best new business model
  • Best migration to the Cloud

A panel of judges reviewed all submissions and selected a winner, which will be honored June 3 in Indianapolis as part of the 2019 Electronic Security Expo (ESX). The winner of The Marvel will be featured in the August 2019 Monitoring Issue of SSI. The runner-up will receive coverage in the issue as well.

Following two years of development, The Marvel program was unveiled in late 2017. Lake Forest, Calif.-based National Monitoring Center (NMC) won the inaugural award in 2018 for demonstrating excellence and leadership in the category of Best Implementation of Video Monitoring.

The wholesale third-party central station had been among the first to use video technology to tie video verification to an alarm in an intrusion/reaction model that records criminal activity.

In 2018, NMC became the first entity to offer proactive video monitoring, which is distinguished by a vast video analytics program that filters out nonsuspicious activity to identify true threatening events and alert accordingly.
