Westec InterActive Acquires Digital Witness

DALLAS — Security monitoring firm Westec InterActive Inc. has acquired Dallas-based Digital Witness LLC, a provider of video monitoring solutions and services to small- and medium-sized businesses. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition will strengthen Westec’s leadership position in the remote video monitoring marketplace, says Westec Chairman and CEO Gerald Vento. “IP network video monitoring is growing five times faster than the security industry as a whole and Westec is leading the migration to valued-added interactive video monitoring services away from single purpose burglar alarm monitoring,” he says.

Digital Witness systems are marketed in the restaurant, hospitality and specialty retail verticals to monitor sales, employees and customers either onsite or remotely over the Internet.

Digital Witness offers its solutions and services via a subscription-based model that includes equipment and software, turnkey professional installation and ongoing customer service for about $10 a day.
