Alarm Industry Coalition to Educate Law Enforcement Leaders
FRISCO, Texas — The Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) is contributing to a training program for police chiefs and other law enforcement management run by the FBI.
The FBI’s Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) invited SIAC’s participation as part of its goal to provide information and resources to police chiefs, sheriffs and other law enforcement leaders around the nation.
“What’s most exciting is they’re excited we’re there. They’re wanting more information on alarm management,” says SIAC Executive Director Stan Martin. “They need solutions to issues like reducing costs for dispatches and how to work with the industry to put an effective ordinance in place.”
SIAC will participate in 12 workshops through the end of 2004, working with representatives from up to 500 law enforcement agencies. Martin says that by reaching the management of law enforcement in this way, they will reach solutions to issues like false alarms that are beneficial to both law enforcement and the alarm industry.
