GE Picks Up Network Video Developer VisioWave

GE has acquired digital video networking system developer VisioWave. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Based in Lausanne, Switzerland, VisioWave manufacturers low-cost video adapters, video security PCI boards for PCs, NVRs and intelligent video software. VisioWave will be folded into GE’s Infrastructure, Security business.

“We view digital video networks as a critical component for fully integrated intelligent security platforms. VisioWave focuses on customers’ business needs, which enables them to create a compelling value proposition,” said Louis Parker, COO of GE Infrastructure, Security, in a statement.

Founded in 1996, VisioWave employs 90 designers and salespeople and has sales and support offices in the U.S.
