Identix Sales to Fall Below Its Expectations for 2003

Identix Inc. reports its 2003 fiscal second-quarter results for the period ending Dec. 31, 2002, will fall below the expectations provided by the company in early August.

Due in large part to slower than expected sales in the federal, state and local government markets and continued commercial spending, Identix expects revenue in the range of $20 million to $23 million. The company had expected revenue between $27 million to $30 million, before charges related to its merger with Visionics Corp.  At press time, Identix was to formerly report its revenue in late January.

The company adds that it is reducing its expectations for the remainder of this year.
