ISC West Agenda Targets Public Security Challenges
LAS VEGAS
As the call for security and safety in America continues, this year’s International Security Conference (ISC) West Expo arrives with ideal timing. Taking place March 4-7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, this year’s show highlights educational sessions on terrorism and public safety issues. In terms of products, attendees will be able to see the latest from approximately 650 exhibitors divided into five technology pavilions. The Home Automation Show will also co-locate with ISC West in the same venue.
The number of educational sessions has been narrowed down to the most important subjects and issues, allowing dealers additional time to walk the show floor. As with past ISC shows, this year’s event will include a behind-the-scenes security tour of the Tropicana Hotel and Casino and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV) Int’l Gaming Institute on Monday, March 4 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m, respectively. Preregistration is required. An industry summit, from 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.—free to all ISC attendees who present their badge —will kick off March 5.
At the top of the ISC West’s agenda are such sessions as, “Challenges Facing the Safety and Security of Public Facilities and Events” and “Terrorism: Threat Assessment and Risk Mitigation.” The session “Privacy vs. Security: How will the need for increased security impact our personal privacy?” is free to all ISC attendees who present their badge.
With the rise in exposure and usage of biometric security in government facilities, ISC West is also offering three sessions that will cover the technology’s basics: “Your Password Is Your Hand, Face, Voice, Eye,” “Biometrics for Beginners” and “Biometrics and Physical Security: How can biometrics improve security in your organization?”For more information on ISC West, visit http://isc.reedexpo.com.
