Cyber:Secured Forum Takes a Logical Approach to Physical Security

Presentations held during the two-day cybersecurity conference focused on best practices and security benefits of collaboration.

DALLAS ― Physical and logical security are going to merge, it’s not a matter of if but how quickly they will assimilate each other and work more effectively together in collaboration. That was the overriding message and sentiment during the second Cyber:Secured Forum in Dallas.

Produced in partnership among the PSA Security Network, Security Industry Association (SIA) and Reed Exhibitions, the two-day conference drew around 200 security industry professionals for one-and-a-half days of general sessions, breakout presentations, networking and table-top vendor exhibits.

The event is an outgrowth of the Cybersecurity Congress that PSA exclusively partnered with Security Sales & Integration on four years ago in Denver, and the electronic security industry’s acknowledgement, awareness, concern and action on the subject matter has exploded from mild to extreme during that short time frame.

This year’s presenters and content was uniformly good, especially the “View From the CISO’s Office” and “Technologies Transforming Cyber-Physical Security” general sessions featuring high level end users. Some of the breakouts leaned a little too heavy on IT for most physical security types and some of the vendor presenters were a little too promotional.

Overall, the Cyber:Secured Forum was well produced with many industry movers/shakers and thought-leaders in attendance for an event that was mercifully held within the host Westin Hotel as the mercury hovered near triple digits throughout.
