ADT’s NATIONWIDE INITIATIVE PUTS SAFETY ON AMERICANS’ MINDS
BOCA RATON, Fla.
ADT Security Services Inc., a unit of Tyco Fire and Security Services, announces its “Home Security Spring Check-Up,” the first nationwide initiative from ADT that urges Americans to perform home security and safety checks, and take simple-to-follow and easy steps to protect their homes and families from burglars, fire, carbon monoxide poisoning and flood damage. In addition, the program addresses many of the concerns raised in the recent 2000 National Crime Prevention Survey, sponsored by ADT and the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC), that indicates most Americans are not taking simple, precautionary measures to protect themselves and their families.
“The 2000 National Crime Prevention Survey yielded some interesting results about how individuals oftentimes overlook home, family and child safety,” says Mike Snyder, president of ADT. “Our ‘Home Security Spring Check-Up’ urges every American to take a little time to check their homes and ensure their families are safe from burglary and many of the hidden dangers, such as fire, carbon monoxide and flooding. With the more relaxed summer months approaching, this is the perfect time to make sure we are all protected.”
