Attendees Rest Feet, Exercise Brains at Seminars

LAS VEGAS – ISC West wasn’t just a chance to peek an eye at the newest product offerings in the industry – it was also a chance to gain the newest knowledge. More than 70 seminars and workshops were conducted for security professionals during the week.

Among the more popular seminars was one conducted by Video Security Consultants President Robert Wimmer, where he highlighted many of the lessons Security Sales & Integration readers had already perused in the first part of Wimmer’s “Digital Video for D.U.M.I.E.S.,” presented in the March 2004 issue of SSI. Look for Part 2 of Wimmer’s series in an upcoming issue.
SSI columnist Joe Freeman moderated a panel on remote and intelligent video surveillance, where attendees were told that education, government and transportation were the top IP camera markets.

John Maccone, Fire•Lite Alarms’ national account manager, assisted by System Sensor’s Tom Potosnak, presented a two-hour seminar to educate installers and integrators on changing fire alarm requirements and the ins and outs of intelligent and addressable fire alarm systems.
