Calif. School District Selects Tyco Security Products’ PowerSeries Neo Intrusion Detection System

The PowerSeries Neo system is paired with Alarm.com’s connected services to manage security at the school.

FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Alarm.com‘s connected services to manage security at its schools, located within Travis Air Force Base and in neighboring cities and towns.

The district includes a middle school, two high schools, a day school and five elementary schools, and serves 5,500 students in the area.

Using the PowerSeries Neo system, staff members can independently add new employees to the system and remotely monitor activities and events at the schools, according to Tyco Security Products. Rather than physically going to a site when an alarm sounds, district employees can now monitor activity as it occurs using the single user interface that is accessed via Alarm.com. In addition, the installation already has automation capabilities such as lighting and energy control.

“The PowerSeries Neo integration with Alarm.com’s remote access not only simplifies the district’s day-to-day activities, but it also allows us to meet budgetary and operational mandates at the same time,” said David L. Florez, director of food services, maintenance, transportation and operation for Travis Unified School District. “The customization of our system lets us share responsibilities among several employees, a feature that was at the top of our wish list.”

The system, which includes 50 control panels and more than 200 door sensors, was installed by integrator partner Alarmtech, based in Vacaville, Calif.
