LenelS2 OnGuard v8.1 Provides Deep Integration in Carrier’s Healthy Buildings Program

Offering promises more fully featured browser clients, modernized desktop clients, deeper integration with the Magic Monitor unified client and Milestone VMS, and support for scripted Cloud deployments.

PITTSFORD, N.Y. — LenelS2 has announced the introduction of its new OnGuard version 8.1 security management platform.

The company says that its new software solution offers security teams several upgrades that includes a number of user interface improvements, as well as more unified security management capabilities; a host of Cloud-based features, and increased access to a higher level of analytics.

“OnGuard Version 8.1 provides end users with the best OnGuard system experience to date and adds a variety of key features, enhanced integrations, and deeper analytics capabilities to provide security operators with the confidence and information they need to make proactive, rapid and informed decisions,” says Jeff Stanek, President, LenelS2.

“With this latest update, we’ve also continued to lay the groundwork for our customer’s cloud-based future. As more organizations move their infrastructure to the Cloud, it’s critical that our solutions meet them there.”

Elaborating on the capabilities of the new software solution, LenelS2 says v8.1 offers more fully featured browser clients, modernized desktop clients, deeper integration with the Magic Monitor unified client and Milestone video management systems, support for scripted Cloud deployments, and the solution complements the Carrier Healthy Buildings Program.

Through integration in the Carrier program, LenelS2 points out the new OnGuard software provides options such as occupancy management, advanced access control, and screening capabilities that are said to better protect people and assets.

The Carrier brand states the v8.1 software also offers usability enhancements and enterprise-focused features to some of the most popular browser clients such as OnGuard Credentials and OnGuard Visitor. The latest update also includes a user interface upgrade to commonly used OnGuard Windows clients for a more modern experience, including support for a dark mode to reduce eye strain.

Other features bundled into the newly announced OnGuard v8.1 security management platform include deeper analytic tools. Taking a look at some of those analytic options, the company notes a big data connector exports key real-time data to Security Information Event Managers (SIEMs) such as Splunk and Sentinel for organizations with combined physical and IT security threat detection teams and tools.

Additionally, OnGuard Reports deliver benefits to OnGuard Enterprise customers via standard reports and exporting capabilities to third-party BI tools. Moreover, more granular pre/post user transaction event auditing is available natively in OnGuard without having to separately purchase add-on enhanced auditing packages.
