SureView Integrates PSIM Platform Into ShotSpotter
SureView Systems response technologies can now be incorporated into ShotSpotter’s platform to help law enforcement respond to events faster.
TAMPA, Fla. — SureView Systems, a developer of open response platforms and ShotSpotter, a manufacturer of policing technology solutions, have announced that SureView now integrates into ShotSpotter.
SureView and ShotSpotter explain the combination of their respective technologies will enable law enforcement professionals to respond to emergency situations faster. Moreover, the integration of the products will also help to deter crime.
“The combination of ShotSpotter’s gunfire alerts with SureView’s PSIM gives security operations teams the tactical information they need to respond and protect people in a single, manageable view of events,” says Sam Klepper, senior Vice President, ShotSpotter.
ShotSpotter’s technologies use acoustic sensors to detect and locate gunshots. Alerts are then produced within a minute of gunfire and the alerts include the location of gunfire, the number of rounds fired and other details such as the number of shooters and if high-capacity weapons were used.
The combination of the technologies provides law enforcement with a map that shows where the shots were fired and it immediately shows the closest live video stream to help provide additional information that could be important to those responding to the situation before they arrive on scene.
Simon Morgan, chief product officer for SureView Systems, adds the integration of his company’s technologies into ShotSpotter is a natural extension of its PSIM platform.
“ShotSpotter’s technology provides a tremendous amount of information, providing the SOC and its field teams with the situational awareness required to best respond to gunshot-related events,” comments Morgan.
“ShotSpotter is an immediate addition to our PSIM platform, helping SureView users make more sense of critical events.”
