It’s that time of the year again, time to reward your staff — and maybe even yourself — with a holiday gift for a year well done. That is why I have put together a suggest list of goodies that you might want to consider giving in appreciation or as we would say in the Navy, “Bravo Zulu.”
I’ve tried to select a variety of items, some techie and some novelty. Because personal technology is playing such an ever-increasing role in a technician’s daily life many of the gifts follow this theme.
Most items are economically priced, with several around $20 or less. I hope you find a winner or two among the bunch. And if you have a favorite techie holiday gift, please let me know so I can consider it for inclusion in next year’s column.

Tool Tip

iFixit’s Pro Tech Toolkit comes with 64 steel screwdriver bits to help solve your repairs.
Techs believe, “If you can’t fix it, you don’t own it.” If you’ve tried to fix devices such as cellphones, tablets and laptops, you quickly realize special tools are needed to assist. The iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit from iFixit might be the ultimate tech gear gift for this challenge.
It has a lifetime warranty, and has been designed based on thousands of repair projects and manuals. The iFixit manual reference area is pretty slick too. ($60, ifixit.com)
