Our Best Advice Q&A series continues with Ben Kallas, vice president of of sales for North America at VOSKER. He singles out the best advice he’s ever gotten, gives tips to security industry pros making their way up the corporate ladder and points out some of the top voices in the sector.

Security Sales & Integration: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Ben Kallas: Listen more than you speak.

SSI: What advice would you give to those looking to achieve success in the security industry?

Kallas: Work hard, do the right thing, and do not sell your integrity. You only have that once.

SSI: If you could point to one person in the security industry and tell up-and-comers, “Make sure to listen to what they have to say,” whom would you pick and why?

Kallas: This one is more complicated. I have worked with and for many great leaders in this industry. I find that taking the best from those leaders is what a person can do to make sure they are doing the correct thing for their partners and customers.

I do not think that there is one person who has all the answers, and all the leaders I look to would say that exact thing.
