Electro Acoustics’ Luke Jordan Wins #TotalTech23 Social Media Contest

CI Summit panelist earns $250 gift card for his ability to share news, insights, humor and more about 2023 Total Tech Summit.

It’s been a big year for Luke Jordan.

In January, he became the CEO and co-steward of Electro Acoustics, taking the reins of the family business for which he’s worked in some capacity since July 2011 from his father.

Now, he’s bookending his year of incredible personal achievements by winning the 2023 Total Tech Summit social media contest, earning a $250 gift card for his ability to mix insight and humor in 280-character bursts throughout the three-day event last week in Las Vegas.

When he wasn’t serving as a panelist in the Summit’s general session on succession planning–a topic he knows well thanks to assuming leadership of his Forth Worth, Texas-based integration firm with his brother Sam–Jordan was busy posting his every move on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

That includes sitting in the audience listening to panel discussions and keynotes, meeting with manufacturers, playing cornhole, whacking golf balls, going out to dinner with friends and teaching other Summit attendees the fine art of Texas two-stepping.

What Jordan Said About Winning Summit Contest

While Jordan likely had some inkling that he’d capture the prize based on the sheer volume of his #TotalTech23 posts, the award wasn’t just about overwhelming the competition based on numbers. Jordan also shared insights from the sessions he attended and meetings he had with manufacturers at the event, mixing in serious content with silly stuff in a blend that capture his personality perfectly.

“Total Tech Summit was a blast this year,” he said when informed of his award-winning performance. “This was my second time to attend, and it has been cemented as a must-attend event. The panels and keynotes were relevant as a small business owner and leader, none more than Kirk MacDowell’s keynote on attrition and customer loyalty.

“The rotation of venues also makes the show more fun. Hitting golf balls towards the Strip and playing cornhole with friends from around the world was a blast. I won’t share everything that happened in Vegas, but teaching some Canadians how to two-step at a country bar definitely made the list,” says Jordan.

The #avtweeps community, both in person and on X “was as strong as always,” says Jordan, and “engagement from those who couldn’t make it is a testament to the community.

“My highlight was my friends across the pond going nuts on X when I started punching signage displays on the show floor! I always enjoy sharing opinions and content within our industry because of how active and passionate we all are,” he says.

Total Tech Summit will be in San Antonio, Texas, next year from Oct. 30-Nov. 1. Apply now to be part of the 2024 event with more than 200 of your peers from the security, residential and commercial AV integration industries.
