Security Sales & Integration: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Jeffrey Zwirn: Be a lifelong learner and mentor so you can help others. Always listen and take everything you do seriously because what we do matters.
SSI: What advice would you give to those looking to achieve success in the security industry?
Zwirn: Focus on being a specialist and don’t just follow others. Lead by example and never sway away from the highest standards. The focus on mass marketing is not the way to keep subscribers, provide security and life safety, and grow your business.
SSI: If you could point to one person in the security industry and tell up-and-comers, “Make sure to listen to what they have to say,” whom would you pick, and why?
Zwirn: Attorney Les Gold. He is not only a legend in the alarm industry and a renowned lawyer, but he has focused on growing the industry to meet professional standards. Simplified, he is a lifelong advocate for the betterment of the industry and his efforts have either directly or indirectly had a significant impact on each of us.
