92% of CSAA Members Oppose Merging Associations

VIENNA, Va.

Following a recent endorsement by five major alarm companies to establish a single industry association, the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) announces that it seeks to make its position clear on discussions toward a more common and unified industry voice in the public arena. CSAA contends there is a positive value in a continuing dialogue as a member of the interassociation committee on these common issues; and that the industry, member companies and the public would benefit from the results of such discussions.

Further, CSAA recognizes there are three interdependent and vital associations represented in the industry. However, it is to the advantage of all these associations to utilize the strengths of each organization towards common goals.
According to CSAA President Ralph Sevinor, “In a recent telephone survey of more than 80 percent of CSAA regular member companies, 92 percent favored not merging at this time. In fact, these members stressed their commitment to the long-term autonomy of CSAA.”

The association further states that it remains open to discussions generally on a more unified industry voice on common issues where appropriate.
