D.C. Apartment Complexes in Rough Area Get Monitoring System
Fourteen apartment complexes in Washington, D.C., are now being monitored online through a surveillance monitoring system by Commercial Security Systems Inc. of Perry Hall, Md. The company installed between four to 32 PTZ cameras at each apartment complex and connected them to the Web service of RemoteVideo Inc., as well as its own security system.
“As the neighborhoods were getting worse, our property management customer was spending millions on guards, who never seem to be where the crimes are being committed,” says Michael Pruner, owner and president of Commercial Security Systems. The police department is looking to have the system installed at all 200 of the management company’s apartment and business complexes.
