Masterful Manufacturers Come Full Circle

Everyone would like to be the master of their domain, but only a select few have what it takes to ascend to such a lofty level of consummate skill. Those who do reach that plateau deserve praise for their achievement and should be looked to as a model for others to follow.

The electronic security industry is fortunate in that it includes several manufacturers worthy of being referred to as masters. These are companies whose products offer a combination of features, reliability and price that have made them ubiquitous in the marketplace.

While Security Sales & Integration is not handing out green jackets like that famous golf tournament in Augusta, Ga., the magazine believes it is important to recognize these suppliers and their leading products. To accomplish that, SSI‘s Masters Circle All-Stars program has been instituted.

Based on research by the SSI staff—culled from the publication’s Brand Awareness study, distributors, dealers/integrators and other industry sources—five companies in each of seven different product categories have been identified.

These categories are Access Control, CCTV Cameras, CCTV DVRs, Burglar Alarm Controls, Intrusion Sensors, Fire Detection & Controls, and Wireless Controls & Devices. Each one includes the best-selling products (according to number of units sold) from each of the five represented companies, arranged alphabetically, for a total of 35 products.

The Masters Circle is by no means all-inclusive; there are other excellent manufacturers producing high-quality products. However, the following highlight most of the preeminent players and the products that helped them get where they are today. SSI tips its hat to these All-Stars, whose drive keeps them “swinging for the fences.”

Note: Only one product from each category has been randomly selected for the online version of this feature. Please see SSI’s July issue for the complete listing.
