DALLAS—Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and “Miracle on the Hudson” pilot Chesley Sullenberger will be featured at that ASIS Int’l Seminar and Exhibits in Dallas, along with the latest technologies from hundreds of security product manufacturers and service providers.

Held at the Dallas Convention Center Oct. 12-15, the 56th annual event is expected to attract more than 20,000 professionals from all vertical industries and government sectors. More than 700 exhibitors will showcase everything from IP technology, biometrics, thermal imaging devices, robotics, explosives detection and much more. The exhibits will be open Oct. 12-14 (Tuesday-Thursday), from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Attendees can choose from a multitude of educational sessions that address timely security topics and critical issues. Among the 18 comprehensive educational tracks are crime and loss prevention; crisis management; critical infrastructure; government/military; homeland security; information protection; physical security; and terrorism.

“No other security event attracts the numbers of higher-level practitioners and executives,” says ASIS Int’l President Joseph (Bob) Granger, CPP. “It’s the best place to meet peers face-to-face, share information and best practices, and discover how others are solving their security challenges in today’s complex environment.”

Keynote addresses remain a popular attraction at each ASIS expo. Serving as president of Pakistan from 2001 to 2008, Musharraf will speak to attendees on Oct. 14 at 8 a.m. Sullenberger, who garnered worldwide attention in 2009 when he safely landed US Airways Flight 1549 in New York’s Hudson River, will address attendees Oct. 13 at 8 a.m.

Also, on Oct. 15, humorist and best-selling author Dave Barry will entertain attendees during the closing luncheon.

Readers, attendees and exhibitors can meet the staff of SSI and its sister publication, Campus Safety, in person by visiting the magazines’ booth (No. 1724).
