Palm Beach County, Fla., Police Department Contends Ordinance Is Flawed

PALM BEACH, Fla.—On Sept. 14, a representative from the Palm Beach County Police Department attended the Palm Beach County regional meeting of the Alarm Association of Florida. During the conference, the officer indicated that the city’s alarm ordinance had some problems, and that the sheriff’s office was going to take back the responsibility for invoicing. At the request and suggestion of the members present, the officer agreed to prepare a form that acknowledged this, with the intent that the alarm companies would sign and return the form.
