AMG Introduces AMG265M Mains-Powered Full-Featured 90-Watt PoE Industrial Gigabit Media Converters
Manufactured in a ISO 9001 Certified facility, the AMG265M products are housed in durable, thermally efficient enclosures designed to be DIN-Rail, wall mounted, or magnetically mounted.
BIGGLESWADE, U.K.—AMG Systems of the United Kingdom and U.S., has introduced the AMG265M industrially hardened, ultra-compact fiber optic Gigabit Ethernet media converter directly powered by available 85 – 264-volts AC power.
Models within the series feature either screw terminals or IEC connectors. Available as both non-PoE and PoE models with IEEE802.3at 30 watts or IEEE802.3bt 60/90 watts PoE available. The AMG265M PoE PSE models are suitable for powering the latest high-power requirement PoE IP devices in difficult applications requiring equipment to be industrially hardened and immune from temperature, shock, and vibration.
“AMG is known for our innovative approach to product design. With space being at a premium in most installations, the AMG 265M is easily the smallest, most full-featured media converter available today,” comments Steve Clarke, managing director, AMG. “Our unparalleled manufacturing process allows AMG to offer a wide range of transmission products at very cost-effective levels while maintaining ISO9001 quality, the AMG 265M is another example.”
AMG265M Gigabit Ethernet media converters are Space-Friendly Network Devices
The ultra-compact AMG265M models are produced in a rugged, thermally efficient enclosure designed to be DIN-Rail, wall mounted, or with an industry-first magnetic mount option. AMG claims the AMG265M ultra-compact size equates to a 74% reduction in volumetric size compared to other industrial DIN rail media converters, solving installation density challenges. The fully hardened line can operate outdoors in suitable IP-rated housing and extreme temperatures -22 to 167-degrees Fahrenheit (-30 to +75°C). Integrating smart functionality provides the user with numerous field-selectable intelligent features such as link-fault pass-through, remote device reset, and extended distance mode for the copper cable.
The AMG265M series miniature media converters are suited for connecting IP equipment to Ethernet networks that require optical fiber to achieve longer transmission distances. The AMG265M uses a dual speed 100Mb/1Gb SFP port for connectivity, and AMG offers a range of SFPs for fiber, connector type, and distance.
AMG Systems adds the AMG265M Series media converters are designed in the U.S. and U.K., and the products are manufactured in an ISO9001-certified U.K. facility.
Moreover, the company stresses the products are designed to NEMA standards and are fully TAA and NDAA compliant, which unlike similar products from other Asian countries, can be used in all U.S. Government installations.
“The AMG265M continues our quality standard. Our engineering team looked at what was currently available, identified weaknesses, and engineered the AMG265M to overcome those weaknesses. Offering a media converter that requires no external power supply and can be easily connected to any available AC power supply is a simple solution for our customers and one less thing to potentially fail. The AMG265M has no equal in terms of this unique ultra-compact size, industrially hardened, with full 90W PoE capability, made in an ISO9001-certified facility, and most importantly, available when you need them. We believe in the quality and stand behind them with lifetime support,” Tom Exley, technical director, AMG. “This media converter solves the density challenge, allowing the user to utilize more devices in a smaller area. Plus having a product made in the U.K. gives your network an added layer of security.”
