LAS VEGAS — When it came to bringing together companies at the ISC, the HID Corp. booth proved to be the center of attention. The access control manufacturer announced several new partnerships at ISC, including pacts with GE and Axis Communications, and the acquisition of an ID software developer.

HID’s parent company, ASSA ABLOY, announced the acquisition of Synercard Corp. and says the maker of photo cart management software will become part of HID. In addition, HID announced GE’s security business has been granted a worldwide, nonexclusive license to use HID’s proximity technology, while Axis will join with HID to create the industry’s first open standard for the integration of video security and access control.

Besides partnerships, HID introduced several new products at the show, including new 13.56MHz applications for its iClass contactless smart cards and the new VertX CS family of central station-managed access controllers.
