2005 Masters Circle All-Stars: Masters of the Security Universe

Published: September 30, 2005

More than ever, it seems like new security products and their manufacturers come and go faster than Tom Cruise’s inappropriate outbursts. That’s because astute installing contractors are understandably leery of bleeding- edge offerings that could fail their customers when they need them most – during a critical security or fire/life-safety incident.

Although they continue to be interested in new technologies, these diligent and typically successful dealers and integrators refuse to let their clients’ homes or businesses serve as beta test sites. That’s why they rely on products that have been proven in the field and suppliers that will be there at a moment’s notice to support them in the event of a problem.

Now in its fourth year, Security Sales & Integration salutes those manufacturers with its annual Masters Circle All-Stars list, which honors the top-selling products on the street. These companies’ products offer a combination of features, reliability and price that have made them ubiquitous in the marketplace.

Based on research culled from SSI‘s Brand Awareness Study — independently researched by Readex of Stillwater, Minn. — wholesale distributors, dealers/integrators and other industry sources, five to 10 companies in each of eight product categories have been identified. Each category includes the bestsellers from each of the represented manufacturers, arranged alphabetically, for a total of 40 products.

The Masters Circle is by no means all-inclusive; there are other excellent manufacturers producing high-quality products. However, the following highlights most of the leading players and the products that helped them get where they are today. Congratulations to this year’s group!
