2010 PSA-TEC Boasts Record Attendance

NORWALK, Conn.
Published: June 8, 2010

Attendance for the 30th annual PSA-TEC conference was at an all-time high, with a 31-percent rise from the 2009 event. SECURITY SALES & INTEGRATION served as the Elite Media Sponsor for the conference, which took place May 24-28 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.

Presented by PSA Security Network and Reed Exhibitions, the event offered 136 sessions of industry-leading training seminars for security systems integrators across multiple tracks, including business optimization, IT, and physical security.

“We are pleased with the success of the 2010 event,” says PSA Security Network President and CEO Bill Bozeman. “By opening the event to the entire industry and moving the location to Rosemont, we were able to attract a larger audience of security professionals, with growth rates unmatched by any other event in the industry – while at the same time maintaining the unmatched training and peer-to-peer networking opportunities, which have become hallmarks of PSA-TEC.”

Jeffrey “Skunk” Baxter served as the speaker for the Samsung Security-sponsored keynote address “Asymmetrical Thinking in a Conventional World.” The former guitarist for the Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan now serves as a consultant on national security matters. His talk drew parallels from his work with the government to that of the system integrator community by emphasizing the importance of situational awareness in both roles. Baxter also challenged the audience to educate their customers on situational awareness as a complement to the security systems they install.
