15 Products Take Home IoT Integration Awards

The first-ever Internet of Things Integration Awards honors IoT-related products serving the residential and commercial markets.

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Recognizing the most noteworthy products and technologies, Security Sales & Integration, along with sister publications CE Pro, Commercial Integrator and Channel Pro, are pleased to announce the winners of the inaugural IoT Integration Awards.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical devices, vehicles, home appliances, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and connectivity which enables these things to connect and exchange data. This creates opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems, resulting in efficiency improvements, economic benefits, and reduced human intervention.

“Internet-enabled electronic devices and systems are flooding the marketplace, and security is no exception. In fact, often security — both physical in the form of networked centralized hubs and satellite components and logical in the form of cybersecurity — is at the very heart of the IoT revolution.” says Scott Goldfine, editor-in-chief of Security Sales & Integration.

The program honors IoT-related products serving the residential and commercial markets. Categories range from network security and access control, to lighting and A/V.

“From thermostats to surveillance cameras to appliances to whole-house control systems… and everything in between… the Internet of Things (IoT) is becoming ubiquitous in the home.” says Jason Knott, editor-in-chief of CE Pro.

To stay ahead of their competitors, security pros should think about expanding their offerings outside of typical security solutions. The emergence of home automation and IoT has opened new doors for security pros to explore.

“Internet of Things has already become important in commercial spaces as customers increasingly have an expectation of intuitive design. Meanwhile, as customers get used to walking into a meeting room or hotel room and having the lights, shades, and multimedia react to their presence, it’s easy to see that it will become increasingly important.” says Tom LeBlanc, editor-in-chief of Commercial Integrator.

Instead of installing a few security cameras and then leaving other IoT products to be installed by a different integrator, why not do it yourself? In the slideshow, you will find award-winning products in both the commercial and residential market that can help bolster your offerings.

Entries were judged on several key elements, including innovation/technological advancement, ability to integrate with other products, value, end-user benefits and integrator benefits.

IoT Integration Awards entries were judged by a diverse panel of industry professionals, including prosumers, editors, consultants and integrators in the IT, security, commercial A/V and home automation fields.
