LAS VEGAS — Security Sales & Integration unveiled this year’s SAMMY Awards honorees at a packed ceremony held on the ISC West 2024 show floor in April.

The SAMMYs — also known as the Sales & Marketing Awards — exists to recognize and honor electronic security dealers and integrators whose businesses demonstrate exceptional expertise in creating sales and marketing materials, developing solid business practices and executing installations.

This is the program’s 29th year. Its sponsors were ADI and Campus Safety Conference.

How the SAMMY Awards Were Chosen

Our independent panel of SAMMYs judges meticulously examines dozens of detailed entries, evaluating display ads, promotional items, vehicle graphics design and more. Ultimately, they narrow each category to four finalists, only one of which can win.

If your company takes home a SAMMY Award, you not only get a year’s worth of bragging rights but also receive a majestic trophy that, quite frequently, integrators proudly display in their head office. For current and prospective clients alike, there’s just no better testament to excellence.

All of us at SSI tip our hat to our 2024 SAMMY Awards winners, finalists and nominees. Thank you for being shining examples of the absolute best in electronic security sales, marketing, design and integration!

Let’s shine a spotlight each of our honorees, allowing each to reflect on the significance of their wins:

Best Community Outreach Program

Best Community Outreach Program is the quintessential “feel good” SAMMYs category, spotlighting the heartfelt community engagement and volunteerism that integrators earnestly embrace every day.

Judging those programs was no easy task for our judging panel, whose members were asked to consider factors like these: creativity and effectiveness in meeting community objectives, depth and scope of volunteer activities, results achieved and enduring impact.

The finalists were Acadian Total Security, CPI Security, Everon and Silent Guard, but the SAMMY Award went to Acadian Total Security!

Best Display Advertisement

Display advertisements hold a special place in the hearts of journalists like us at SSI. They can produce sales, of course, but they can also stir memories, evoke an emotional response and inspire action.

Our nominees in the Best Display Advertisement (Print or Electronic) category underscore all the potential that display ads can bring to bear. Our judges considered factors like these in their evaluation: attention-grabbing design, ease of reading, visual appearance, company/brand representation, effective calls to action and overall effort.

The finalists were Acadian Total Security, Everon, Imperial Fire Alarm & Security and Stone Security, but the SAMMY went to Everon!

Best Newsletter or Content Marketing

For editors like us at SSI, newsletter creation and content marketing are celebrated art forms. Clearly, many leaders in the integration channel feel the same way, given the strength of the nominees in this year’s Best Newsletter or Content Marketing category.

Our SAMMYs judges examined each piece and considered factors including overall appearance and effectiveness, audience engagement, design layout, graphics and photos, originality and editorial quality.

The finalists were Acadian Total Security, CPI Security, Everon and SecurAlarm, but the SAMMY Award went to SecurAlarm!

Best Overall Integrated Marketing Program

Best Overall Integrated Marketing Program is one of the most difficult SAMMYs categories to judge, as it enfolds all the elements of a fully integrated marketing campaign across all forms of media.

Making it even tougher was the caliber of marketing excellence that integrators once again delivered. Judges evaluated content marketing theme, appearance, innovation, uniqueness of materials, cost effectiveness, brand representation and demonstrated business benefits.

The finalists were CPI Security, Everon, Guardian Alarm and Securitas Technology, but the SAMMY went to CPI Security!

Best Promotional Giveaway

The Best Promotional Giveaway category seeks to celebrate integrators whose giveaways stand out, providing not only a great marketing touchpoint but also real value. For this category, judges considered a range of criteria in assessing the award worthiness of promotional giveaways: the overall effect and marketing value of the item; the originality and creativity of the giveaway item; the prominence of company branding; and the item’s quality and cost-effectiveness.

The finalists were Acadian Total Security, Everon, LOUD Security Systems and Silent Guard, but the SAMMY Award went to LOUD Security Systems!

Best Promotional Video or Audio

The category of Best Promotional Video or Audio allows integrators to show off their broadcast and production chops, leveraging today’s multimedia technology to elicit a reaction.

Our SAMMYs judging panel considered factors that include visual appeal, voiceover quality, message clarity, emotional response, production quality and call-to-action effectiveness. Notably, this category received more nominations than any other SAMMYs category.

The finalists were CPI Security, Everon, Stealth Monitoring and Stone Security, but the SAMMY Award went to Stone Security!

Best Sales Brochure

At a time when almost everything has become digitized and electronic, it’s possible to sometimes overlook the impact of a fantastic sales brochure. The nominees in the Best Sales Brochure category are making sure that doesn’t happen by delivering some of the most dazzling collateral in the integration industry.

Our SAMMYs judges evaluated each brochure on the basis of overall design, graphics and photos, information content, readability, originality and company representation.

The finalists were Acadian Total Security, Elite Interactive Solutions, Everon and Stone Security, but the SAMMY Award went to Elite Interactive Solutions!

Best Social Media Campaign

Social media is a ubiquitous presence in both our personal lives and our professional lives. That means integrators that understand how to leverage it have a huge competitive advantage.

When evaluating the Best Social Media Campaign category, our SAMMYs judges considered numerous factors: creativity and originality, security and safety themes, multimedia elements, consistency and frequency of updates, evidence of new sales generation and evidence of increased traffic/likes/followers.

The finalists were CPI Security, Eastern Security Services, Everon and LOUD Security Systems, but the SAMMY Award went to Eastern Security Services!

Best Vehicle Graphics Design

As the category name would indicate, Best Vehicle Graphics Design honors the effectiveness of an integrator’s vehicle graphics. Judges considered factors like symmetrical proportionality to vehicle size and shape; overall design layout, graphics and color scheme; and company representation effectiveness.

The finalists were Acadian Total Security, Everon, Stealth Monitoring and Stone Security, but the SAMMY Award went to Stealth Monitoring!

Best Website Design

The Best Website Design category honors integrators whose web presence stands out from the competition and reflects well on their professionalism and care.

As judges combed each nominee’s website, they considered factors like organization, load speeds, effective graphics usage and information accessibility. Moreover, they looked for testimonials from satisfied clients, links to valuable external resources and more.

The finalists were AlarmSouth, CPI Security, Everon and SecurAlarm, but the SAMMY Award went to SecurAlarm!

Installer of the Year

We will dive much deeper into our final two SAMMY Award honorees, the 2024 Installer of the Year and the Integrated Installation of the Year, soon.

For now, we’ll simply acknowledge that earning either of these awards is an incomparable testament to an integrator’s commitment to excellence and outstanding client outcomes.

For Installer of the Year, our judges weighed a wide range of factors: employee motivation and fulfillment, training opportunities, business practices, marketing strategy, community engagement, customer service and industry-wide contributions.

The finalists were Acadian Total Security, CPI Security, Everon and Securitas Technology, but the SAMMY went to CPI Security!

Integrated Installation of the Year

As SSI readers await our in-depth coverage of this year’s Integrated Installation of the Year nominees and their stunning projects, we here tip our hat to not only our winner but also our entire group of finalists. Arguably, 2024 brought the strongest group of projects we’ve ever seen in 29 years of the SAMMYs.

As our independent judges evaluated each project, they considered these criteria: overall system design, system uniqueness, whether at least three discrete electronic systems (e.g., access control, fire alarm, perimeter protection) were integrated, the seamlessness of the integration, the ease of operation and overall end-user satisfaction.

The finalists and their respective projects were as follows: Allstate Security Industries for a six-site, full-company upgrade; ESCC for One Wall Street; Everon for Hawaiian Financial Federal Credit Union; and LOUD Security Systems for LiveSafe Resources. The SAMMY went to Everon!
