The Discover™ MiniDomes manufactured by American Dynamics (AD) of Boca Raton, Fla., a Tyco Fire & Security company, is an economical solution for deterring criminals and fostering public safety. According to AD, these new high performance, integrated cameras are contained in resilient housings, and the price point is comparable to traditional, nonvandal-resistant housings.
The cameras are encased in high-impact dome housings that retain their shape even after the force of an impact from a vandal. AD says they are made of durable composite polycarbonate materials with either a clear or tinted bubble. Three models are available: the 504 TVL Discover wide dynamic range (WDR) mini-dome, the 540 TVL Discover high-resolution mini-dome, and the 330 TVL Discover standard-resolution mini-dome.
