3VR Security announces Robert Allen (Al) Shipp as the company’s new CEO, effective immediately. Shipp is a veteran technology executive who was most recently vice president of the Enterprise Division at Apple Computer.
Shipp replaces former CEO Steve Russell, who will continue as chairman of the board at 3VR Security.
“Al is simply the right guy at the right time,” says Russell. “He is the exact combination of experienced technology executive and visionary leader we were looking for at this pivotal stage in the company’s growth, and his joining 3VR is a tremendous vote of confidence for the company.”
Shipp joins 3VR from Apple, where he built a sales and marketing group that tripled business in 18 months. Shipp’s extensive executive experience at Apple also included hands-on responsibility for worldwide support and the formation of key industry partnerships.
“I’ve been a friend of Steve’s and a fan of 3VR for some time,” says Shipp. “But after having a chance to look under the hood, I was even more impressed. 3VR is a ‘can’t fail’ business with incredible upside potential.
