The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has released its annual “Five Technologies to Watch” for the home consumer electronics industry in the year ahead.
Home operating systems lead the list, with PCs or central servers increasingly providing more than automated lighting for systems. The CEA says such systems are increasingly able to inform users of security problems at home while they’re away.
Other technologies the CEA says to watch are wi-fi, recordable digital video, mobile gaming and hi-res audio.
