BAY SHORE, N.Y. – A+ Technology & Security Solutions, a video security and technology integration firm specializing in the convergence of physical and IP video, is celebrating its expansion from Long Island with the opening of its New England headquarters in Bridgeport, Conn.

A+ Technology and its affiliated businesses have built a state-of-the art technology showroom and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education technology manufacturing facility within a 7,000 square foot, fully renovated space. The building will serve as the company’s New England headquarters in the center of Bridgeport’s emerging high-tech community, from which sales and support of its integrated security, audio/video, LED lighting and IT infrastructure solutions will be conducted.

The opening of the facility signals the first step in creating a high-tech ecosystem within Bridgeport, according to the company. A+ Technology says it will offer internship opportunities to local high school and college students, and ultimately provide career opportunities to the community’s technology-savvy graduates.

A July 12 grand opening celebration is scheduled to be attended by community leaders, dignitaries and business officials representing the public and private sector. Mayor Joseph Ganim will assist in the official ribbon cutting ceremony.

The office will be headed by Jorge Garcia, director of New England operations, who formerly served as the City of Bridgeport’s Director of Public Facilities and Construction Management. The office will initially be staffed by seven full-time employees, with plans to increase that number to more than 20 in the coming year.

A+ Technology is recognized as an industry leader in the implementation of “safe cities” technology, having been honored with the 2014 Security Innovation Award – Municipal Sector for its work with the City of Bridgeport. In addition, the company specializes in providing security solutions for K-12 school districts and higher-ed campuses, most recently completing a campus-wide, $1.4 million security upgrade for Boston’s Endicott College.
