The Compass 6E version software by Compass Technologies of Exton, Pa., is said to offer advanced security, state-of-the-art simplicity and is backwards compatible with 5E system hardware. The 6E software features a graphical user interface that is based on the Microsoft® .net framework and many of the features in the 5E version.
This upgrade has the ability to manage large transaction loads and can utilize database partitioning while offering DVR integration. It also supports LAN and WAN compatibility. According to Compass, the 6E’s new information architecture is different than other conventional access control systems because of the way it allows customers to enter user data and operational parameters. Entry is quick, easy and instinctive, resulting in less instructional time for new users.
