ATLANTA — Ackerman Security Systems has donated nearly $9,000 to foundations aimed to help individuals with life-threatening illnesses.

The company donated more than $5,000 to Children’s Wish Foundation Int’l during the 9th annual Ackerman Security Systems Charity Golf Tournament held at Hamilton Mill Golf and Country Club. Founded in 1985, Children’s Wish Foundation grants wishes for terminally ill children.

“The dedication of the Children’s Wish Foundation continues to create memorable experiences for children and their families in Atlanta and around the world,” Ackerman Security President Jim Callahan says.

The firm also contributed $3,400 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Georgia Chapter, as part of its “Caught Stealing” campaign with 680 The Fan, an Atlanta-based sports radio station.

During the “Caught Stealing” campaign, Ackerman Security donated $100 each time a base runner was thrown out for attempting to steal a base against the Atlanta Braves. Additionally, Ackerman Security has entered into its seventh year of sponsorship with the Strike Out Leukemia and Lymphoma Radiothon presented by the radio station.

“We remain committed to our corporate goal of good stewardship in the community where we live and work, and feel fortunate to have been able to assist so many worthy organizations,” Callahan says.
