ADEMCO/Pittway, a division of Honeywell, announces the acquisition of the Access Control Software Division of MIC, a Herndon, Va.-based software developer. MIC sells its products under the MICAccess, Northern ProWatch(r) and Hirsch Momentum brand names. The company also designs custom access and badging software for airports and other large institutions. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. “This acquisition now brings ADEMCO’s powerful NT software development in-house. It will allow us to invest more heavily in the development of a global, class NT solution for our customers,” says Dennis Raefield, president of ADEMCO’s Integrated Systems Division.
Jim Vinson, manager of Engineered Systems for Northern Computers, a subsidiary of ADEMCO/Pittway, adds, “MIC has already been supplying this enterprise-wide software solution to Northern’s ESG division under the ProWatch NT brand name, making this a logical step for the company. Now that the Honeywell family has acquired this software division, we can further strengthen the lead that our ProWatch software product has developed in the marketplace.”
