ADS Security, an independent electronic security provider, announces it has acquired Advanced Detection Systems Inc. of Melbourne, Fla. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Advanced Detection Systems was established in 1985 and serves residential, commercial and institutional clients along Florida’s Space Coast and inland to Orlando. The company has 30 employees.
Alice Walden, owner of Advanced Detection Systems, will join ADS Security as general manager of the Melbourne office.
“The purchase of Advanced Detection Systems is part of our strategic plan to build ADS Security’s presence in the southeastern region,” says Mel Mahler, ADS Security’s president and CEO. “[We are] now well-positioned for additional growth in the Florida market.”
ADS Security, founded in 1989, has offices in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee that serve more than 60,000 customers.
In 2006, ADS Security purchased accounts from Westco Security Systems in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., giving the company its first accounts in the Sunshine State. The Melbourne acquisition gives ADS Security its first Florida office and adds 2,400 accounts to its total client base.
Advanced Detection Systems provides design, installation, maintenance and service for access control, fire detection, video surveillance and other electronic systems. It also provides 24-hour monitoring for fire/life-safety and video surveillance systems.
