NASHVILLE, Tenn. – ADS Security, a regional electronic security and automation company based here, has acquired more than 1,000 customer accounts from Myrtle, S.C.-based ProTec Plus, Inc.

The latest deal is ADS’ second acquisition in South Carolina. Last year, the firm, which now has approximately 4,000 total accounts in the state, acquired Columbia, S.C.-based American Burglar and Fire Alarms.

“We are excited to add another South Carolina city to our service map and we extend a warm welcome to ProTec Plus customers,” ADS President and CEO John Cerasuolo says. “ProTec Plus has been protecting homes and businesses in Myrtle Beach for over 25 years and we are honored to continue their legacy of outstanding service.”

This acquisition follows ADS’ purchase of Professional Alarms last month and five security companies across the Southeast last year, including North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.

ProTec Plus customers will have access to ADS’ advanced suite of residential and commercial security and automation services, including mobile management, smart home technologies, video surveillance and access control solutions; proprietary UL-listed, CSAA Five Diamond monitoring center located in Nashville; and the My ADS customer portal, which offers online account management.

The purchased accounts will continue to be serviced out of the ProTec Plus’ Myrtle Beach location, a new branch office for ADS. ProTec Plus owner Michael Thomas and his team will remain with ADS.
