ADT Security Services Inc. was recently awarded a blanket purchase agreement from the U.S. Department of Defense. The agreement is for the sale of fixed and portable radio frequency identification (RFID) readers and antennas.
The Department of Defense plans to use the RFID technology for logistic identification, tracking, locating and monitoring of commodities and assets. The agreement runs through 2007.
