ADT’s New App Lets Users Monitor Homes Via Personalized Floor Plan
BOCA RATON, Fla. — ADT announces an enhancement to its ADT Pulse offering that will allow users to remotely interact with home devices via a personalized floor plan viewed on a Web-enabled PC, iPhone or iPad.
The new Home View application allows users to “easily and quickly map a virtual floor plan of their home and then remotely monitor and interact with their ADT Pulse devices,” according to a press release.
After setting up the app from the ADT Pulse sign-in page, users can view color-coded icons of their security devices, lights, thermostats and cameras. By clicking on the icons, customers can control their home’s lighting, climate and many small appliances, as well as view real-time video.
The new tool is free of charge for all current and future ADT Pulse customers, according to Steve Shapiro, group director of product management, ADT.
“This is part of our ongoing strategy to continue adding ADT Pulse capabilities and to enhance the overall customer experience,” he says.
