ADT to Provide Products, Services to Fairfax County (Va.)

BOCA RATON, Fla.

ADT Security Services has signed a four-year cooperative contract with Fairfax County, Va. that allows the county’s public agencies and schools to satisfy their department’s competitive bid requirements to purchase ADT security equipment and services.

Fairfax County awarded the contract to ADT for electronic security products and services such as access control, video surveillance systems, wireless mesh transmission networks, biometrics, command and control centers, fire and smoke alarms and monitoring.

The cooperative agreement will ensure any county department or school, with an immediate need for security products and/or services, can purchase directly from ADT without having to repeat the lengthy and time-consuming bid process. The four-year agreement includes three, one-year renewal options.

John Gaydos, vice president of the ADT Government Systems Group, says this type of agreement is a growing trend among state and local governments across the country.

“States, counties, cities and school districts are establishing cooperative procurement agreements like this one to take the burden off individual organizations tasked with advertising, obtaining, reviewing, evaluating, and negotiating responses to solicitations,” Gaydos says. “Fairfax County has already done the due diligence that helps assure agencies are getting the best value, product quality and customer service available in the market today.”

As an added value, Fairfax Country receives the liability protection benefits of ADT’s SAFETY Act certification and designation from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), according to Gaydos.
