LAS VEGAS — ADT made a series of product and service announcements this week as part of its smart home and security presence at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018.
Family Location App
The company partnered with locator and communication tool Life360 to bring to market ADT Go, a new mobile app aimed at helping families stay connected. Life360 is a networking app that allows family members to share their location with each other and communicate throughout the day. A free premium trial is now available to consumers looking to experience ADT professional monitoring outside of their home or business.
Video Doorbell
The company has integrated a new video doorbell into its ADT Pulse home security and automation platform. Beginning in February, customers will be able to access all key features of their security and automation system in one mobile app experience, from unlocking doors to disarming their security system, as well as creating triggered events once the doorbell is engaged
Cybersecurity
The company announced it will roll out ADT Cybersecurity services for residential customers later in 2018. The offering will include devices and customizable services to professionally monitor home WiFi networks, safeguard computers, mobile devices and smart gadgets by partnering with leading cyber device brands. Customers will also receive parental and guest controls to simplify WiFi management.
ADT also said consumers can be on the lookout for Pulse platform integration with Google Assistant voice controls in the spring. Voice commands for ADT Pulse are currently only compatible with Amazon Alexa.
