MONTREAL – ADT has appointed Andrea Martin as president of ADT Canada. Martin will report directly to ADT President and CEO Naren Gursahaney.
Martin will assume her newly created position Jan. 12. She will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s strategy to grow the security and automation segment throughout Canada. Martin will also lead the integration of ADT Canada and Protectron, a leading Canadian security provider that ADT acquired in July 2014.
“ADT is a globally recognized brand and a clear industry leader, and I’m honored to be joining the management team,” Martin says. “There is a tremendous amount of growth potential for ADT in Canada as the security and automation market continues to evolve, and I look forward to working with a talented team to shape and execute ADT’s strategy for continued growth and market leadership.”
Martin most recently served as managing director of data services for Royal Mail in London. Prior to Royal Mail, Martin served as president and CEO of a Canadian life sciences company.
She also spent more than 10 years leading various international business units within Reader’s Digest Association, Inc., and served as president and CEO of Reader’s Digest Canada.
“Andrea has extensive experience managing large subscription-based businesses, and a track record of successfully growing and transforming global business units while also delivering a world-class customer experience,” Gursahaney says. “We have made investments in the Canadian market over the last year, including the acquisition of Reliance Protectron, and Andrea is just the visionary leader we need to continue to accelerate our growth in this important market.”
Martin earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Concordia University, as well as advanced executive degrees from Queen’s University and the University of Oxford Said Business School.
