ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY MAKES MOVE TO ACQUIRE MAJOR STAKE IN FINGERPRINT I.D. FIRM TOUCHSAFE INTL.

Advanced Technology Industries (ATI), a diversified technology holding company, has signed a Letter of Intent to acquire a significant stake in Touchsafe Intl. (TSI), an Alabama-based systems engineering company dedicated to applying state-of-the-art fingerprint identification methods to developing products. TSI’s new technology is comprised of an electronic scanning device for fingerprint capture, discrimination software and software specific to each market application. The firm is focusing on three worldwide markets: Internet charge card transactions; area security and accounting; and airline ticketing and passenger processing. ATI intends to complete the proposed acquisition within 30 days. Terms were not disclosed.
