Staff with alarm system provider Custom Alarm/Custom Communications Inc. (CCi) recently volunteered for a community-wide initiative in its hometown of Rochester, Minn., to construct a “Four Seasons” adventure playground in a local neighborhood park.

Custom Alarm CEO Leigh Johnson closed his company offices for the afternoon on May 20 and encouraged all his associates to volunteer their time to help build the playground. Approximately 50 employees donned in Custom Alarm Volunteer Team T-shirts and tool belts operated drills, saws, rakes and shovels to assist in completing the construction project.

The cost of the playground was around $90,000, including materials, design fees and construction consultation fees. The project was funded entirely by donations from the community and local businesses.

“We consider ourselves fortunate to have been able to participate in this project,” Johnson said. “It was amazing to see so many people from the community come together and show their support on so many levels.”
