Published: June 3, 2012

AURORA, Ill.Alarm Detection Systems (ADS), based here, has added 2,000 residential and commercial accounts with the acquisition of Libertyville, Ill.-based Norshore Alarm Company. Terms of the deal were not released.

ADS’ purchase of Norshore Alarm Company brings nearly $80,000 in recurring monthly revenue (RMR) and adds six employees to ADS’ roster, including two salespeople and four technicians. Additionally, the deal allows ADS to expand its footprint in the northeastern Illinois, company vice president and CFO Terry Olah tells SSI.

“We already had a strong account base throughout the Norshore market area,” he says. “That made Norshore’s customers a great fit and a welcome addition to our company. We will be keeping an office in the area, and we look forward to building an even greater density through Norshore’s market area.”

Founded more than 40 years ago, ADS provides intrusion detection, fire safety and other security and monitored services to more than 27,000 subscribers. As a result of the merger, ADS will offer its new customers with a broader array of products and services, such as remote management capabilities for alarm systems and remote video services.
