Alarm Firm Financial Backer Trying to Bring Backpacks to Young Katrina Victims

Alarm company financial backer Barnes Associates Inc. is
spearheading an effort in bringing school supplies to
students who have been relocated to Baton Rouge, La.,
following Hurricane Katrina. Barnes President Michael
Barnes, a member of the HREF=’https://www.securitysales.com/t_hof.cfm’
TARGET=’_blank’>SSI Hall of Fame
, is seeking
cash donations to help fund: “St. Louis – Project
Backpack,” which is providing backpacks with school
supplies for thousands of students relocated to Baton Rouge
from evacuated New Orleans.

“The school system resources in Baton Rouge … are being
stretched beyond their limits trying to take on the
thousands of students whose families have been relocated,”
Barnes says in an E-mail to clients. “They need school
supplies.”

Barnes is asking people to send financial donations to help
pay for the 500 to 1,000 backpacks it hopes to provide.
Each backpack stuffed with supplies costs $30.
