Alarm Industry Event Draws Out Golfing Masters


While alarm professionals Dave Simon, Bill Cooper, Mike Horgan and Dave Koenig won’t be getting green jackets, they were the masters of the course at the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association’s (NBFAA) Third Annual Golf Without Guilt tournament in Las Vegas. The team of four took first place at the annual event at the Revere Golf Club on April 4 that raised more than $160,000 for the Alarm Industry Research and Educational Foundation (AIREF) and its research efforts.

More than 130 took their best, and worst, shots at the Revere course in the event coinciding with ISC West and the NBFAA Spring Conference.

“This event is becoming synonymous with ISC West,” says Jamie Orvis, of Norwalk, Conn.’s Security Solutions Inc., who co-chairs the event with Bart Didden of Port Chester, N.Y.’s USA Central Station Alarm Corp. “Our industry colleagues want to golf without guilt because they know AIREF’s mission for this event is to raise money for a good cause that will benefit our industry.”
The winning teams and golfers were:

  • First Place: Dave Simon (Brink’s Home Security), Bill Cooper (ADT Security Services),
    Mike Horgan (Horgan Sales & Service) and Dave Koenig (Capital Lock)

  • Second Place: Thomas Kenty (Monitronics), John Milliron (Monitronics), Nyle Brasch (Criticom) and
    Don Mosbacher (Criticom)

  • Third Place: Dave Kosciuk (Silent Knight), Charlie Gallardo (Silent Knight), Hugh Blair (Silent Knight) and Craig Summers (Silent Knight)

  • Closest to the Line: Ryan Sandler (Honeywell Fire Group)

  • Closest to the Pin: Hole 5 – Dave Kosciuk (Silent Knight); Hole 8 – Bill Cooper (ADT Security Services); Hole 12 – Rich Montalvo (Honeywell); Hole 16 – Ed Hoyas (Monitronics)
