In keeping up with all of the latest technology and providing its dealers with new opportunities, Alarm Monitoring Services (AMS) is now offering Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) system monitoring for vehicle location, asset tracking and personal security.

AMS dispatchers can now locate, track and communicate to drivers, and, in emergency situations, can place calls to any vehicle and obtain the location without the need to alert the driver. The driver of the vehicle can also contact AMS by pressing a button.

“GPS is a cost-effective and easy-to-use solution, and a great way for dealers to provide new services to their customers and to ‘get their foot in the door’ when approaching prospects,” says Dera DeRoche, AMS president.

With this service, the company can be contacted through a cellular call. Once the call is placed, the identification and location data are then automatically transmitted to the central station. A “hands-free” voice call is then established in the vehicle and two-way communication takes place. To deal with an emergency or alarm situation, hidden “panic” buttons can be installed and a dispatcher can discreetly listen in.

The standard installation only requires connection to the vehicle’s power supply and the placement of the Cellular/GPS antenna.

“Whether a dealer’s customers use GPS for personal or commercial applications, this will bring the help they need no matter where they are, when they need it—with just one button,” says DeRoche.
