Alarm Response Piece on CBS Canceled Due to Shuttle Coverage

The report on home burglar alarms that was scheduled to air Feb. 3 on the CBS Evening News was not aired due to continuing coverage on the Columbia shuttle crash. Officials at CBS News said the alarm response piece has likely been postponed for now. We will keep you updated.
The news network’s teaser on its Web site had read: “Home Burglar Alarms: Millions have them, and if one goes off, the police will come, right? Don’t count on it! Some cities, big and small, have changed the rules, and that has homeowners outraged! So what’s going on? Monday night, we’ll tell you about the new rules and what they mean for you.”
