SEATTLE — Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) has released a new Alexa skill that allows users to view recorded smart home camera video feeds on the Echo Show, Echo Spot, Fire TV, and Fire Tablets.
This allows customers to say, “Alexa, show the event that just happened at the front door” and see the last recorded event from their connected camera.
The skill is available to owners of Ring, Arlo, Cloud Cam and August smart home cameras. Previously, users could only ask Alexa to pull up live video feeds.
It’s interesting that Amazon-owned Blink is missing from the list of compatible cameras. Could we see more additions to the list coming soon? Developers interested in utilizing the Cameras Recap API can learn more on Amazon’s blog post.
