American Alarm Expands Footprint in R.I. With Acquisition
ARLINGTON, Mass. — American Alarm and Communications will expand its presence in Rhode Island following the firm’s acquisition of AAA Custom Alarm Systems of Warwick, R.I.
For more than 40 years, AAA Custom Alarm Systems has provided intrusion detection, fire alarm and other security services to homeowners and businesses in Rhode Island. As part of the transaction, AAA Custom Alarm Systems will merge into American Alarm’s existing Warwick, R.I.-based branch operating under the name Electronic Alarms.
All AAA Custom Alarm Systems employees will remain with the company, with AAA Custom Alarm Systems Founder Joseph Trillo staying on as a consultant to ensure a smooth transition. American Alarm maintains that customers will not experience any interruption of service or alarm monitoring.
“This is a great fit, since we share a common set of business values that are based on truth, integrity, quality service and always putting the customer first,” says Wells Sampson, president of American Alarm.
That common business philosophy motivated Trillo, a past president of the Alarm Association of Rhode Island, to sell his company to American Alarm.
“Protecting people’s lives, homes and businesses is a serious mission that we have dedicated ourselves to since the 1960s,” he says. “At this point in my life, however, I am looking forward to reducing my day-to-day business commitments so I can focus more time on my family while continuing to serve the people of Warwick and Rhode Island. This was the right time for a change, and I would not have taken this step unless I was completely confident that all of my customers would be in superb hands.”
Founded in 1971, American Alarm is an independent security systems integration and monitoring company. The company, which owns and operates a UL-certified, 24-hour security command center, serves more than 22,000 residential, commercial and public sector customers and has more than 200 employees.
The firm has three offices in Massachusetts and operates Advanced Signal out of Windham, N.H. and Warwick, R.I.-based Electronic Alarms.
